The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 2nd, is also designated as the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life. It was instituted in 1997 by Pope Saint John Paul II to recognize religious sisters, brothers, and priests who give testimony to the blessings and grace God bestows upon those who have embraced the consecrated life.

To honour those who have said yes to this particular vocation, Archbishop Dunn invites everyone: 12:15 pm Mass
Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica
Monday, February 2nd.
Clergy and religious who belong to the various religious orders serving in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth have been invited to be present at this Mass.
All are welcome to celebrate with these communities who contribute greatly and generously to the life of our local Church. This Mass will be available by livestream. On February 2nd, click here or go to www.halifaxyarmouth.org and click on “Click Here to Watch Mass”.
St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Parish is blessed to have our Franciscan Brothers and Sisters within our midst. On this day, we are asked to pray for vocations and to give thanks for those who have given the gift of themselves including, most dearly, the Franciscan community.
